Bonjour, welcome to our small family business called Couleurs du Sud.
Our business name means 'colours of the south', because we just love the colours of the South of France, especially the region of Provence, with its long undulating rows of colourful lavender, swaying in the breeze, that always seem to have a distant mountain backdrop and clear blue skies; the fields of large bold yellow sunflowers, heads up, smiling and following the sun through the long sunny days. The effect is very relaxing, as is the intoxicating fragrance of the lavender and herbs that seems to drift over the whole region of southern France.
Just to look at our products conjures up the bright vibrant colours of the lavender, sunflowers, olive trees, the wild mountain flowers and herbs in spring, colours that are intensified by the crystal clear atmosphere of the morning light in Provence France.
We chose to sell this carefully selected quality range of products, not only because they remind us of the vibrant colours of Provence, but because they are made in Provence and because the pottery we sell is made by a wonderfully skilled artisan potter called Ghislain, using local clay and combining centuries old techniques with his own modern style to bring out the same intense, bright, natural colours that we love from this region.
The table linen and material captures the same bright colours with designs that are traditionally Provencal, featuring olives, lavender, sunflowers, the wild mountain flowers and herbs, and of course not forgetting the regional emblem the Cigale.
